Self employment has been the growing trend this past decade. The enormous number of self employed individual had readily made a very big impact on the health care commerce.

Low-cost insurance plan are now being made available to the self employed community. After years of adversity and struggle this is now the fruit of their hardship that they are reaping.

From the historical perspective, health care insurance was originally offered as compensation to low income. This was during the post World War II. Businesses would want to attract the services of the returning soldiers to come and work in their company. Since they cannot offer higher salary because of the restriction posted by the government they just lure potential employees with an additional compensation and that is an employer-financed health insurance plan.

But with the advent of self employed individuals an adjustment in the feature of health care was once again available. The employer-funded policy which was efficient then are no longer in demand today. Instead we are now in the time of less expensive health care coverage that can be very much availed by these self employed.

Young families are the usual type of families to which these entrepreneurs fit in. So family plan is the best offer they would want to have. However they would go for a family only if the monthly premium would not interrupt to the normal operation of the small business.

The small entrepreneur’s restricted funds for domestic and business finances make it tough for them to register on insurance plan. In that even the lowest priced policy cannot be afforded by these small businesses because the cost would be far greater than their budget can contain for any one time.

In this modern age we revert back to the traditional insurance plan of employer- funded health care plan as if we had travel back on time.

Business owners are now asking for additional amount from their employees for the full payment of health care policy. Unlike during the earlier times where the employer would shoulder the whole amount for the employee’s health coverage, today an employee should give his fair share.

The increasing number of individual walking out of companies to build their own business results to increasing number of self employed. This in turn marks the modification and innovations to the programs, like personal and group insurance, supplied by various providers of health care.
